Established in 2014 Thunderbird Crafts Trading Post is a family owned and operated Native trading post in its truest form, located within the Chippewa’s of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation along the shoreline of Lake Huron.

Our community is historically known as a central supply location amongst the Native peoples of this part of the world for centuries, due to our large Flint quarry. This was our main commodity in the past and was traded to local communities for finished goods and other commodities. Keeping with our past but stepping into the future we have a diverse supply of raw materials that we supply to local and distant crafters alike for their various wares. In return, they supply us with hand crafted Native goods.

Our finished crafts range from quilts, blankets, moccasins, mukluks, paintings, baskets, beadwork, quillwork and much more.

We also offer a wide selection of native music, instructional and historical books to learn and understand the history and be able to make crafts yourself. Stop in and see what we have to offer even if you’d just to like to hear a little more about our local history and take a tour of the community. Stop by and our staff will welcome you by the fire and share some history and you can take something home to remember us by.
